Ernest grew up swimming, fishing, and hunting on the bayous and beaches of south Louisiana with his siblings. Attending Jesuit High School of New Orleans challenged him academically, and drove him toward a career path in the service of others. Eight years of graduate school in California produced two educations, his PhD in clinical psychology and his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, both of which he continues to use by empowering others with such knowledge and skills that he feels fortunate to have learned. His natural attraction to intense and challenging endeavors led him to gravitate towards the complex world of childhood trauma recovery, which has remained his primary interest since his first experiences treating childhood trauma as an undergraduate while working at an inpatient mental health facility.
